Seattle to Minnesota via I-90 and I-94
Day 1 ... Left Seattle behind schedule and made it only as far as Idaho, but found a nice place to stay for the night. Inka approved of the accommodations.
Day 2 ... An enjoyable drive through the mountains of Idaho and western Montana. The dogs kick up the dust in the Sawtooth National Forest. They are happy to stretch their legs after a night in their boxes.
It's hot. I try to find shady rest areas to stop with the dogs. They are good travellers and are doing OK in the warm weather.
By afternoon, we have reached the endless flat highway of eastern Montana. We make it to the far east edge of Montana by late evening.
Day 3 ... Finally the rolling prairie of Montana gives way to the badlands, beautifully rugged scenery in the North Dakota National Grassland. The dogs pretend that they are wild wolves of the prairie.
In eastern North Dakota, we begin to see fields of hay. Inka poses.
In Minnesota, we find endless barns of turkeys. We pass turkey trucks on the highway, trailed by drifting turkey feathers.
We arrive at the home of my good friends Scott and Terry's in Hinckley, MN, late on Sunday, happy to settle in for awhile!
