Olympic Peninsula Land
Olympic Peninsula Land
Ed and I went out to do some measurements of the property, to see where a house might go. The land is on quite a steep (south-facing) slope, so there are some challenges. We used a laser to determine elevations, and then Ed did all the calculations on the drive home.
Each visit has been a test of the “rain shadow.” Last time we came, it was gray and drizzly in Covington, sunny in Sequim. This time, it was gray here on the property -- but it poured all day in Covington. I had almost 2 inches of new rain in my rain bucket. However, although it wasn’t wet here, since it was cloudy and foggy, we didn’t get to see the mountains. You’ll have to imagine them. :-)
Well drilling ... finally, a sunny day! (see video below)
