We get an early start and head to the Snæfellesnes peninsula for our last three days in Iceland.
We take our time on the drive, stopping to look at the sights and read the informational signs. The weather, which started out cloudy, begins to clear as we drive north.

Typical of Iceland, sheep are everywhere, as likely to be outside the fences as in them.
We stopped at a beautiful little church on the way to our final destination at Lýsuhóll. While we were walking around, a man who had been mowing the lawn of the cemetery came over to us. He lives next on a farm next to the church and helps take care of it. He was delightful, and spent about a half hour showing us the church and telling us all about the very arduous life of a sheep farmer in Iceland.
After the church, we stopped for a walk along a lovely windswept beach with lots of raucous arctic terns protecting their nests, and the remains of some fierce-looking creature from the depths.
Turning down the long driveway to Lýsuhóll, where we'll be staying for the next two days. This horse farm is nestled at the base of the mountains with a great view out towards the ocean. We've rented an entire house for the five of us.
There's even golf here Roger!
Our house, through tall grass.
There are horses everywhere, including some in a field right in front of the cabin. We'll be doing a horseback ride tomorrow.
The day ends with a family-style dinner at the farmhouse, where we meet some very interesting people. We do a short evening beach walk, and then to bed.
This is what passes for dusk here, just a muted light and long shadows.
The mountain is Snæfellesjökull.
